I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in downtown Boise, Idaho—proudly born and raised here! I absolutely love this state, its rich history, and the beautiful sense of community I’ve found in my little corner above Flying M. It’s become a safe, welcoming space for healing and acceptance.
While I wouldn’t describe myself as outdoorsy, I do consider myself outsidy—I love being outside all day, then curling up with a good book when I’m back home. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, reading, crafting, and spending time with my partner, family, friends, and the absolute cutest boy in the world: my Aussie, Finnigan.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Secondary Art Education with a minor in Graphic Design from the University of Idaho. After a much-needed and beautiful break from school, I went on to earn my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwest Nazarene University and graduated in 2022.
Book I’m currently reading: The Wisdom of Your Body by Hillary L. McBride, Ph.D
Training I’m currently taking: 60-credit Somatic Attachment Therapy through the Embody Lab
Hi There! — I’m Rylee
My Specialty
I specialize in supporting teenagers (ages 16+) and young adults who are ready to navigate the complexities of life—balancing school, work, relationships, and the big question of who they are and where they’re headed. The pressure to succeed, fear of failure, and uncertainty about the future can lead to stress, anxiety, and self-doubt. I’m here to help you work through these challenges, whether they involve relationship dynamics, self-worth, life transitions, attachment concerns, or mood disorders like depression and anxiety.
I’m an affirming ally of the LGBTQIA+ community and provide a safe, inclusive space for all identities and relationship types. I support individuals with anxiety, depression, adjustment disorders, ADHD, and high-functioning Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). As a therapist with ADHD myself, I bring both professional knowledge and lived experience to my work with neurodivergent clients. I love helping both neurotypical and neurodivergent individuals find their confidence and sense of belonging in the world.
I believe therapy should feel like a safe space where you can be yourself, be challenged, and even laugh a little along the way. I often incorporate humor, creative expression, and sometimes a craft or board game into sessions to help make the process feel engaging and personalized. Together, we’ll explore your story and work toward building the autonomy, resilience, and clarity you need to thrive.
My Approach
My approach is centered around meeting each client's unique needs, with my practice grounded in Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Art Therapy, and Trauma-Informed Interventions. I am currently working on somatic attachment therapy training through the embody lab and am finding a new passion through somatic therapy. My goal is to meet you wherever you are on your journey and guide you toward healing, growth and positive change. I combine various counseling theories to create a personalized experience that truly fits each of my clients. Throughout our work together, I prioritize open communication, ensuring we regularly assess and adjust your counseling needs to align with your goals and progress.
In our sessions, we’ll explore your core values and beliefs, challenge any unhelpful thinking patterns, and delve into the life experiences and relationships that have shaped them. My aim is to help you develop the emotional awareness and resilience needed to navigate life’s challenges. I strive to create a therapeutic environment that fosters empowerment, self-acceptance, and authenticity, characterized by growth, laughter, safety, and confidence. I believe therapy doesn’t have to be heavy or overwhelming. I make it a priority to infuse joy into our sessions, celebrating victories as we address challenges. My goal is to create a balanced experience that honors all aspects of your journey, from struggles to successes.
Make the Decision That’s Right for you!
The decision to seek therapy is a courageous one, and I commend you for taking this step. The success of your treatment largely depends on your willingness to engage in the process, even when it feels uncomfortable. We might explore difficult memories and emotions, which could bring up strong feelings, but I’m here to support you every step of the way. While I can’t promise quick fixes or miraculous changes, I can promise to stand by your side, helping you gain clarity and understanding as we work together toward your goals.
Note for Teen Clients
For parents curious about counseling for their teens, here’s the scoop: I specialize in working with teenagers who want to engage in the therapeutic process. If you’re considering working with me, it’s because your teen is ready to dive in and actively participate in their journey. This process works best when your teen is genuinely on board.
Choosing to work with me means trusting the therapeutic process and my role as a clinician. I will always prioritize your teen’s safety while fostering a safe and supportive space for them to grow and learn. Rest assured, I’ll communicate what needs to be shared and guide the process with care, balancing both transparency and the trust your teen places in me.
